Fire DepartmentThe city has its own volunteer Fire & Rescue Department that services the city and surrounding communities. Fire Chief is Kenneth Laney. In an emergency call 911. Box 97 South Haven, MN 55382 No burning is allowed within city limits: Exceptions include small campfires* and grilling in devices designed for the purpose of cooking. Household waste is not to be burned or used to start fires. Any other burning within the city limits are to be controlled by the Fire Department or City authorized personnel. Rural community burning permits can be obtained through the MN DNR website at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestry/fire/questions.html. *Regulating Statutes define a “Campfire” as not more than three feet in diameter by three feet high and has had the ground five feet from the base of the fire cleared of combustible material.
