The City of South Haven is in the State of Minnesota in Wright County.

The City is located south of St. Cloud in Central Minnesota and west of the Twin Cities along Highway 55.  The amount of land area in South Haven City of 1,637 square kilometers.

The City tree is the Oak ----The City bird in the Hummingbird ---- and the City color is Red

Estimated Population 189 with 73 households. 

Children that live within the City limits of South Haven are in the Annandale school district.  The City of Annandale is five miles east of South Haven.

History of Community

In 1888 the village was platted along a major railroad and incorporated in 1902.

Disastrous fires in 1910 and 1911 wiped out a large portion of the city.

In 1964 the city water was established and completed in 1966.

In 2003 the city sewer system was constructed.

In 2010 the old city hall that was built around the 1930's, was determined to have structural issues.  It was demolished in 2011.  A new community city hall was constructed and opened in 2013. 

The city owned and operated a municipal liquor store that was unfortunately closed in 2015 due to building structural issues and damage.  The structure that was built in 1912 was demolished in 2016.

In 2024 the City constructed a new water tower, a new water treatment plant, and new lift station part as phase 1 

Annual Events

 Fish Fry is first Friday in April, held by the Sportsmen at South Haven Fire Hall. 

 Smelt Fry is first Saturday in May, held by the firefighters at South Haven Fire Hall.
